The Gem City Market is a community- and worker-owned co-op grocery store built from the ground up in West Dayton.

A full-service grocer, the Gem City Market offers affordable, quality kitchen staples, including fresh produce and deli, as well as specialty local and organic products. The store’s worker-owners ensure exceptional service. And our many partners, led by Expressions of Life, coordinate community health and wellness programs in the community room, teaching kitchen, and small health clinic.

At the Westside Makerspace, we will access tools, explore our passions, learn new skills, and create quality jobs.

The Westside Makerspace cooperative presents a unique vision to build our skilled workforce and create our own economic infrastructure in West Dayton. As one of the first makerspaces in the country with Black founders, we offer an alternative space, culture, and practice for youth and adults in our community to train for in-demand industries and build our own businesses.

Guided By Mushrooms is a worker-owned and operated mushroom farm based in Dayton, Ohio, providing high-quality, locally grown mushrooms to grocery stores, restaurants, and chefs throughout the region.

As a cooperative, the people who grow the food also share ownership and decision-making, keeping jobs, skills, and wealth rooted in the local community.
